Learn Greek

Greek is not my first language, therefore I cannot guarantee the accuracy of anything I’m teaching. I’m using the development of this course as an opportunity to reinforce my own learning, so proceed with caution and take everything with many, many grains of salt.

Course Outline

Unit 1: Greetings

The first thing you’ll learn are some basic phrases, including hello, goodbye, asking how people are doing, and giving an answer about whether or not they’re doing well. You’ll learn how to use words that refer to me, you, and other people, which will serve as a building block for understanding verb conjugations throughout the course.

Unit 2: Expressing wants

This unit teaches you how to say yes and no, as well as how to ask or say you want something. You’ll learn some basic food vocabulary as part of this unit.

Unit 3: What do you have?

This unit builds on the previous lesson’s food vocabulary.

Unit 4: Friends and Family

This unit covers vocabulary related to relatives and friends.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most commonly asked questions about our course.

Why create yet another course?

Because the other ones I’ve tried so far didn’t seem effective or realistic.

What makes this course different?

While I haven’t tried every single language learning course out there, I think the thing that makes this one different is that it introduces some of the most commonly used phrases and unpacks them in order for the student to build a foundational knowledge of the language. This way, the basics can be immediately incorporated into your daily life so you can practice early and often.

Unlike courses I’ve seen so far, we don’t try to throw too many words in your new language in at once. We continue to use your base language as you are learning the new language. For example, you might see “Do you want pizza?” in your base language while you are learning to say “yes” and “no” in your new language. Later on, you’ll learn how to say “Do you want pizza?” in the new language.

Can I become fluent with this course?

Sure you can. You have to put in the work, though.
